For sea-lovers
Tobago enjoys both the tumbling Atlantic Ocean and the warm and welcoming Caribbean Sea where one can make journeys to extensive coral reefs for scuba diving, snorkeling or glass-bottom boat rides. Due to the influence of the Orinoco River Tobago's waters are exceptionally rich in plankton and the reefs here teem with varieties of fish in all sizes, colours and species, sponges, corals and other marine life.

Important scuba centres at Speyside and Charlotteville offer challenging diving, with easier levels of dive sites at Buccoo Reef and Mt.Irvine.

The endangered Giant Leatherback Turtle is a specially welcome visitor to select beaches during March-July.

In-shore and deep sea fishing takes place off the Caribbean coast while combined land-sea experiences include sailing trips to deserted beaches beside the rainforest, such as Englishman's Bay, King Peter's Bay, Culloden and Castara.

Popular bathing beaches include Store Bay, Pigeon Point, Man-oWar Bay, Pirates Bay, No Man's Land and many others.
